Ditra Matting Recommended Adhesive

As an uncoupling system it is used on timber substrates such as wood based sheets and board where possible movement at board junctions could otherwise lead to the floor tiles cracking.

Apply the bonding adhesive to the substrate using a 3 x 3 mm or 4 x 4 mm notched trowel. The substrate must be even and load bearing. This allows the cement to properly hydrate resulting in a strong dense bond coat. Apply the adhesive using a 3 x 3 mm or 4 x 4 mm notched trowel.

To bond schluter ditra matting use a bonding adhesive that is appropriate for the substrate. Verify the compatibility of all materials prior to installation. The mat also acts as a waterproofing membrane to cope with any moisture that may occur on the underside of the substrate. Schluter ditra matting should be applied using a suitable matting adhesive such as ardex af200 plus matting adhesive with a 3mm or 4mm notched trowel.

In general we don t recommend the use of modified thin set mortar to set tile over the membranes because these mortars must air dry to cure properly. It is also suitable for use with vario pro underfloor heating mat. Apply the adhesive using a 3 x 3 mm or 4 x 4 mm notched trowel. Ardex af200 plus uncoupling matting adhesive is recommended for use with uncoupling membranes such as ardex ds 20 decoupling mat schluter ditra matting and dural durabase ci matting.

Schluter ditra and ditra xl are specifically designed for ceramic and stone tile installations ditra and ditra xl provide uncoupling to prevent cracked tile and grout. Recommended by schluter for adhering schluter ditra mat to timber floors. For timber substrates we recommend using ardex af200 plus uncoupling matting adhesive this is a purpose made high performance adhesive for fixing fleece backed uncoupling membranes. Ardex af 200 has excellent wet grab and an exceptionally long tack time with very good early and long term adhesive strength and is odourless when dry.

To bond schlüter ditra 25 use a bonding adhesive that is appropriate for the substrate. Individual courses of schlüter ditra 25 are cut to size. The anchoring fleece on the underside of schlüter ditra 25 must be fully engaged in the adhesive to provide a mechanical bond to the substrate. Schlüter ditra acts as an intermediate substrate system on floors prior to the fixing of ceramic and natural stone tiles with ultratilefix adhesive.
