Ditra Over Floor Leveler

What is your recommendation to install ditra over existing flooring.

Ditra and ditra xl were designed and tested for thin bed ceramic tile and natural stone applications. I have a few questions i want to be clear on before i do anything. The subfloor is 5 8 t g plywood joists 2x12 on 12 centers. What do ya think.

We recommend unmodified thin set mortar on a floor that has been leveled with a self leveling product. For this project the ditra is being installed over radiant heating element embedded in self leveling mortar. My bathroom floor needs some floor leveler well a lot of leveler. I will be putting ditra on top of it and 12x24 marble over that.

Hello i poured self leveler in my bathroom yesterday over my heated floor wires. If i use a self leveler on my plywood subfloor which type of thin set mortar do i used to install schluter ditra or ditra xl. It is 6 x7 and the floor slopes a quarter inch over the 6 width. Ditra over self leveler.

My initial thoughts include removing the existing finish wood floor then install ditra and modified thin set over the wood plank floor and lastly unmodified and ceramic tile over ditra. I m interesting in hearing your thoughts before i begin my renovation. Any leveling of the subfloor must be done prior to the installation of the membrane. Ditra is a versatile product and can do more than just provide an uncoupling membrane.

About 110 square feet. It can be installed over a variety of substrates including plywood osb existing vinyl structural planks and concrete. My question is can i install the ditra over the floor leveler or do i put down another layer of plywood 1 4 first.
